• Tuition and college fees: Clarendon scholarships cover course fees in full, applying to both Home and Overseas fee status students. This is a genuinely rare detail; a lot of UK scholarships only discount the Home-rate fee and leave international students to cover the (much higher) Overseas gap themselves. Clarendon doesn't do that. 
• Living stipend (full-time students): an annual grant for living expenses of at least the UKRI minimum doctoral stipend rate, which in 2025–26 is at least £20,780 enough, per Oxford, to cover a single student's living costs in the city. 
• Study support grant (part-time students): this varies; it may be a sixth, a third, or half of the UKRI minimum doctoral stipend rate, depending on the nature and duration of your course. Your exact figure shows up in your offer letter, not before.

How to apply step by step

There's no separate scholarship application, which is both the best and most confusing part of Clarendon. Here's the actual sequence:

1. Pick your Oxford graduate course and check its specific deadline. Every course sets its own December or January cutoff for 2026–2027 entries; examples of these graduate deadlines have fallen on 2 December 2025, 9 January 2026, and 27 January 2026 at 12 noon UK time, depending on the department. Don't assume your course uses the same date as a friend's go to the specific course page. 
2. Submit your full Oxford graduate application by that deadline. This means your CV, references, personal statement, transcripts, and (for research degrees) a research proposal, the standard components of an Oxford graduate application, submitted through the university's online system. Budget several weeks for reference letters alone, since academic referees are often slow.
3. Do nothing extra for Clarendon. By applying for graduate study you will automatically be considered you do not need to submit any additional documents. If a website or agent tells you there's a separate Clarendon form or fee, that's a red flag.
